SURGERY
ACL Repair
Dogs can injure a ligament in the knee just like football players do that can cause lameness and chronic pain. We can do an extracapsular repair that makes a false ligament to stabilize the knee and relieve lameness and pain quickly.
Patellar Repair
This occurs mainly in small breed dogs. The patella moves out of place due to abnormal conformation causing lameness and pain over time. A wedge resection technique can be used to permanently keep the knee cap in place thus eliminating pain and lameness.
Cancer Surgery
Tumors and growths can appear just about anywhere on our pets. Surgery can be done to remove these lesions and biopsy them for further treatment options
Fractured Bone Repair
It can be very stressful if our beloved pets break a bone, but they can be repaired surgically with pins and occasionally splints to hold them in place as they heal.
Eye Enucleations
There are certain circumstances that warrant the removal of the eye. When this is the case we are able to do this procedure for your pets and ease their pain.
Ear Hematoma
This is a swelling of blood in the ear flap either secondary to shaking the head from ear infections or trauma to the ear. We need to drain the swelling and flatten the ear so it will heal correctly and be less painful.
Exploratory Surgery
Our furry friends sometimes eat objects that can get obstructed as it passes through the intestines. These pets require us to go and explore the stomach and intestines to remove these inappropriate objects.
Hip Dysplasia Surgery
When a pet develops severe arthritis in the hips an FHO (femoral head osteotomy) can be preformed to keep the joint from rubbing together and causing pain.
Trauma-Related Surgery
When pets get injured either by a car or other circumstances we are able to evaluate and correct most major problems with stabilization and surgery as needed.
Perineal Urethrostomy
This is a procedure that is performed mainly on our feline friends who are unable to urinate normally. This allows for good urine flow and prevents future development of urinary blockage.
Cystotomy
Dogs and cats can develop bladder stones that require removal. This is not an uncommon procedure that we can perform to eliminate the current condition.
Limb Amputation
When a leg needs to be removed either for cancer or traumatic reasons our doctors are able to handle this surgery and follow up care.
